A popular paddling spot with access to a variety of paddling experiences. A fully developed park with camping and a variety of facilities. An Indian village known as Wahkiakum occupied a site near the park as early as 2300 years ago. A Lewis and Clark site. Lewis and Clark signage. Wildlife refuge signage.

Environmental Considerations: 

Most islands in the Skamokawa area are part of the Lewis and Clark or Juliea Butler Hanson Wildlife Refuge. Camping or landing on these islands is strictly prohibited.

Safety Considerations: 

Large ships moves quickly and quietly through the shipping channel just off the park, creating large wakes which can swamp boats. During warm weather periods strong afternoon winds are common. Tidal influence is very strong.
